Grammy Lammy Handmade Candies

Scarborough, Maine

Picture buying four tons of fudge.  It sounds like an order for Willy Wonka, but that’s what one customer bought in just one year from Scarborough candy maker Grammy Lammy’s Chocolates.  Making only handmade chocolates since 1989, Grammy Lammy’s creates fine chocolates, fudge, custom candy, truffles and novelty chocolates.  And they offer products that are substantial enough to satisfy any craving, like peanut butter cups the size of a muffin or the six ounce chocolate-covered turtles.  And, on the other side of the spectrum, there are the bite-sized mini treats for those who want just a small taste.

Linda Lambrides and her husband created Grammy Lammy’s while looking for a business they could do together. They purchased Sweets in the Maine Mall and learned to make candy from the previous owner.  After honing her skills, Linda took over the sole proprietorship of the business while her husband went back to work as an accountant.  Then, Linda closed the candy store to concentrate on what she loved best – making chocolates.  The candy market is a crowded one, but Linda and her staff of four concentrate on making high-quality, unique products.  Using only Belgian chocolate, they temper, shape and fill all their candy by hand.   Selling largely to retail stores, they ship to customers around the country, and create unique items and packaging upon request.  And Grammy Lammy’s knows that high-quality chocolates are special items that people buy as gifts so they create unforgettable candy for special occasions.

A regular at trade shows, Grammy Lammy’s relies on events like the New England Products Trade Show to reconnect with old customers and meet new customers face-to-face.  Linda has been coming to the NEPTS for fives years and believes it is the best way to introduce her chocolates to the New England buyers.
